The Preservation of Folklore and Folksongs in Denmark

As stated back in chapter one of Sims and Stephens, folklore also includes, folk dance, folk art, folk, medicine, folksongs, folk metaphors, etc. (Sims & Stephens, Ch. 1, 2011). The habitual singer of these folk songs do not regard them as music, they cannot hum without words, and a folk singers day is not measured by the power his voice holds, but by those of the memories (Cra`ster, 1910).
Dr. Feilberg, a folklorist advocated for the establishment of a "central separatory system" for all of the branches in Danish folklore. The new departments included the "Kaempeviser" or a heroic ballad, more than 3000 folktales, folksongs (Cra`ster, 1910).
